Who decides what counts as a “European story” — and who gets to tell it? 

 

This interdisciplinary think tank examines the mechanisms through which “European stories” are defined, funded, and owned. Bringing together producers, funding representatives, policymakers, and creative professionals, we want to interrogate how national and pan-European film funds shape narrative frameworks and how intellectual property rights, co-production structures, and market access determine who benefits from Europe’s creative output.

Through research-led discussion, the think tank aims to generate actionable insights to inform future cultural policy, strengthen cross-border collaboration and open up who gets to speak for Europe on screen.
